On the first day of the mobility all project participants gathered at the ceremony hall of our school, the Tamási Béri Balogh Ádám Catholic High School. There was a folk show, Hungarian students presented folk songs and folk dances to their guests. Our students also organised a Hungarian language workshop to teach some basic expressions to our guests. There was a guided tour in the school.
In the morning we visited Hungary’s only nuclear power plant. We had a guided tour in the power plant’s visitor centre and after that we visited the nuclear energetic museum, where different workshops were held for the participants.
We left for Lake Balaton early in the morning. Our first stop was in Tihany, where we visited the Lavender House, which presents the history, the flora and the fauna of the famous Tihany Peninsula. After the interactive museum we visited the Tihany Abbey which was built in the 11th century.
We left for Pécs, which is located in the south of Hungary and which was the European Capital of Culture in 2010 and which is also a world heritage sight. First we visited the Zsolnay Cultural Quarter where we listened to a presentation about astrology and had an interactive scientific exhibition.
On the final day of the mobility we had a school day. The Hungarian students held a Visible Mathematics workshop. After the workshop we invited a programmer, who held a presentation about Artificial Intelligence.
